Book Week Window Mural Workshop
We’ve had a book week window mural created in Meadows Shopping Centre (U28) by local artist Juliet Townsend. It’s your chance to get creative and add to the display with your favourite book characters, who will you choose?
Location: Meadows U28
Activity Time: Drop-In Sessions 10am – 12:30pm and 1:30pm – 4pm

Willy Wonka Visits Chelmsford
Willy Wonka is heading to Chelmsford in search of a location for his next Chocolate Factory… will you bump into him? If you successfully hunt him down, make sure you say ‘Mr Wonka I’ve got a golden ticket’ for your chance to get your hands on one of our golden Tickets which will give you £5 to spend in The Confectionery Shop (Springfield Rd). Be quick though as there’s only a limited number up for grabs.

Essex Libraries Pop-Up
Are you a keen reader? Come and find out how to get your Blue Peter Book Badge with Essex Libraries! They are heading to High Chelmer with a pop up for Chelmsford Book Week and will have plenty of books you can choose from and borrow, or come and speak to us about a book you have already read. They’ll have all the resources you need to apply for your Blue Peter Book Badge, so come celebrate your love of reading!

The Spectacular Suit – Story Session and Art Activity
Join local author and Illustrator Hayley Wells for story time as they read their self-illustrated story, The Spectacular Suit. A buoyant and heart-warming celebration of individuality, identity, and dressing to suit yourself! Following this it’s time to get arty as you design your very own suit.

Here’s how it works…
Each day we’ll be hiding books at 10 city centre locations
Clues to each book’s location will be added to the CFY stories from 10am on Instagram and Facebook… so make sure you’ve liked and are following @ChelmsfordForYou
If you find the book, it’s yours to keep… it’s really that easy, but you’ve got to be quick!
All of our book finders will have the chance to win £100 worth of book vouchers for their school/ pre-school too. There are five vouchers up for grabs and you’ll find instructions on how to enter inside your new book.
