BCRP LAUNCHES in Chelmsford
As Business Crime Liaison for Chelmsford For You, I’m pleased to share that our recent launch event for the new Incident Reporting & Awareness Platform, “Alert,” and upgraded smart radio system was a great success.
It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from local businesses and partners. The level of engagement throughout the morning really highlighted the shared commitment across Chelmsford to improving communication, strengthening partnerships, and creating a safer trading environment for everyone.
We began the event with a networking session over refreshments, which provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to connect and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our business community. This was followed by a series of presentations, where we outlined our vision for the future , including plans to establish an official Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP).
The team at Shopsafe delivered an excellent introduction to the new Alert platform and smart radio system, clearly demonstrating how these tools will modernise the way we report incidents, share intelligence, and respond to emerging issues in real time. It was also great to hear from our partners, whose endorsements reinforced the importance of collaboration and collective action.
One of the most encouraging aspects of the day was the level of interest in the live demonstrations and on the day registrations. Many businesses took the opportunity to sign up to the platform immediately, and the radio swap initiative was particularly well received, with attendees keen to upgrade to the new, more cost effective smart radios.
We closed the event with lunch and further networking, giving everyone the chance to continue conversations, ask questions, and explore how they can make the most of the new system.
Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with how the event went. It was well attended, highly engaging, and the feedback has been very positive. This launch marks an important step forward for Chelmsford, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our businesses and partners as we roll out these new tools and continue building a safer, more connected city.
