Working with Shopsafe

Over the past year, working closely with Shopsafe has been a really positive and important part of my role as Business Crime Liaison for Chelmsford For You, particularly as we’ve worked towards this transition to the new Alert platform and smart radio system.

From the beginning, it felt like a genuinely collaborative process. Rather than simply being handed a finished product, I’ve been involved in ongoing conversations about what local businesses actually need day to day. That input has been listened to and reflected in how the system has developed, which has made a real difference in ensuring it feels practical and relevant.

One of the things I’ve valued most is the responsiveness of the Shopsafe team. Whether it’s been feedback from businesses, operational challenges, or ideas for improvement, there’s always been a willingness to adapt and refine things. That kind of flexibility has been key in making sure the transition from our previous system has been as smooth as possible.

There has also been a real focus on supporting users through the change. That support has made it much easier to encourage engagement and uptake across the town.

For me, this has never just been about introducing a new piece of technology ,  it’s been about improving how we connect as a business community and how quickly we can respond when issues arise. Working alongside Shopsafe has helped move that forward in a meaningful way.

Now the products have been rolled out , I feel confident that the groundwork we’ve put in over the past year has set us up well for the future. I’m looking forward to continuing that relationship and seeing how the system develops further as more businesses come on board.
